Blazer Football Moves Up in Weekly Top 25 Polls

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Following its 31-28 win over Clark Atlanta on Saturday, the Valdosta State football team moved from 12th to 11th in the newest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Top 25, while moving from 17th to 14th in the latest D2Football.com Top 25 Poll and checked in at No. 7 in the FloCollege Division II Top 25.
 
In the AFCA Poll this week, Ferris State leads the way with 31, first-place votes and 775 points following its 34-17 win over then-No. 9 Pittsburg State.  Harding is second, followed by Grand Valley State, Slippery Rock and Colorado State-Pueblo round out the top five.  Gulf South Conference foe West Florida moved from eighth to sixth following its 48-21 win over then-No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne, while Kutztown is seventh, followed by Minnesota State, Western Colorado and Angelo State sits just ahead of VSU for tenth.
 
The D2Football.com Poll has Ferris State first, followed by Harding, Minnesota State, Kutztown, and Grand Valley rounds out the top five.  Colorado State-Pueblo is sixth, followed by Western Colorado, West Florida, Slippery Rock and Angelo State is tenth.  Ouachita Baptist is 11th, followed by Pittsburg State, Indianapolis, VSU, and Augustana (S.D.) is 15th.  This poll has all four GSC teams ranked as West Alabama checks in at 22nd and Delta State is 24th along with VSU and UWF.  
 
In the FloCollege Poll, Ferris State leads the way, followed by Harding, Grand Valley State, Slippery Rock, and Virginia Union rounds out the top five.  West Florida is sixth, followed by VSU, Angelo State, Western Colorado and Minnesota State rouned out the top ten.  West Alabama sits 18th in the poll, while Delta State is among others receiving votes.
