VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State football team opened the 2025 Fall Camp Wednesday morning at the VSU Athletic Fieldhouse.

The Blazers under first year head coach Graham Craig began a new era of VSU football as he was named the 12th head coach in program history on Jan. 20, 2025.  Craig was the offensive coordinator for the red and black in 2024 helping lead VSU to the program's seventh national title game as the Blazers finished 13-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Gulf South Conference play.  VSU won its league-leading 11th GSC title in 2024.

Last season, Craig's offense finished 11th nationally and tops in the GSC at 448.6 yards per game, while it was eighth nationally in scoring offense at 40.1 points per game which was best in the league.  The Blazers led the nation turnovers lost for the season with just five.

Following the first day, Craig, along with graduate wide receiver Tyler Ajiero and senior defensive lineman Greg Hudgins were interviewed by members of the media as two returnees from last season.

Ajiero, a native of Tifton, Ga., played in all 14 games for the Blazers last season and earned second team all-GSC.  He hauled in 40 receptions for third on the team and 550 yards, along with six touchdowns.  He had a season-high 97 yards receiving and two touchdowns at Shorter last season, while he also had two touchdown receptions against Mississippi College.  Ajiero had five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown in the national championship game against Ferris State.

Hudgins, a Washington D.C., native, saw action in 12 games in his first season in Titletown in 2024.  He had 13 tackles with three solo stops and registered four tackles against Mississippi College, while returning a fumble against Delta State last season.

The Blazers open the 2025 season on Aug. 30, at 1:15 p.m. ET in Birmingham, Ala., at historic Legion Field versus Clark Atlanta in the Week Zero Labor Day Classic.
