Senior Carlos Hart has been the best player on one of the best teams in the country for the Valdosta State Blazers this season. The Miami native is leading VSU in PPG (19.0), RPG (6.7), APG (4.0), and SPG (2.5). Hart was most recently named to the All-GSC First Team last two weeks ago along with teammate Drew Mills, who was named to the second team. Hart has tallied 15 20-point games and three double-doubles in 31 total games while starting in 30 of them on 27.4 minutes per game. The guard/forward is also a menace defensively, as he is second in the conference and tenth in the country in steals per game at 2.5 while being sixth in the nation in total steals at 78. Hart has set the single season record for steals in a season by an individual that was previously 74. Hart is also up towards the national ranks at getting to the line and converting, as he is fifth in the country in free throw attempts and makes while he is 186-239 for a .780 clip on the year. Hart's 186 made free throws broke Tyrone Curnell's record for most made in a season by a Blazer which was previously 158 back in 2009-10. Hart also tied Curnell's record for most made in a game back on November 11 when he made 16 free throws versus Fort Valley State. In his lone year in Valdosta, Hart is shooting 193-384 from the floor for a ..503 clip while shooting 16-66 from distance for a .242 percentage.

The Blazers look to make a run in the big dance, as they play No. 4 seed Lynn tomorrow in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. at 7:30 p.m. at Rick Case Arena.
