VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State men's basketball heads back on the road Saturday, Dec. 13, as the Blazers travel to Pensacola, Fla., to face West Florida in a Gulf South Conference matchup scheduled for 5 p.m. at the UWF Field House.
VSU enters the weekend looking to carry momentum from its most recent outing, a strong performance against Baptist University of Florida on Monday, Dec. 8. The Blazers controlled the game from start to finish, using balanced scoring and consistent defensive pressure to secure the win and build confidence heading into conference play. VSU's ability to push the tempo and convert in transition proved to be a difference-maker, while the Blazers also limited Baptist's scoring opportunities with disciplined half-court defense.
Saturday's matchup presents a tougher test against a West Florida squad that has long been one of the league's most physical and well-coached teams. The Argonauts are known for their defensive intensity and rebounding presence, making execution on both ends of the floor a priority for Valdosta State.
The Blazers will look to set the tone early on the road by valuing possessions, controlling the glass, and maintaining the same energy that fueled Monday's victory. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. ET, as VSU continues its push through the early portion of the Gulf South Conference schedule.
