JACKSON, Tenn. – In a makeup match from Oct. 26, the Valdosta State women's soccer team rallied from conceding an early goal for a 3-1 win at Union on Wednesday afternoon in the season finale for both teams.
The Blazers finished the season with a 6-8-4 record overall and a 4-7-1 record in Gulf South Conference play and spoiled Union's chance at a Gulf South Conference Championship appearance in the process. Had Union won, it would've bumped The University of Alabama at Huntsville out of the No. 8 spot in the conference tournament. Union finished the season with a 4-7-4 record overall and a 3-7-2 mark in GSC play.
VSU won five of its final six matches to end the season and won its last two matches as the Blazers finished tied for eighth with UAH in the league standings. UAH advances to the conference tournament due to its head-to-head win over VSU on Oct. 5.
For the match on Wednesday, Union's Rebekah Jackson scored the early goal with an assist from Lucia Revuelto just 6:07 into the contest on the first shot of the match. VSU wouldn't sweat however, as freshman
Kyndal Smith had a good look 29 minutes in, but Union's goalkeeper Anita Lopez Rodriguez was there for the save. Just under eight minutes later, freshman
Jada Narcisse scored her second goal of the season with an assist from junior
Kayleigh Kearns for a 1-1 score at the 37-minute mark. Freshman Ameiliah Dixon had her second goal of the season for the game winner just 3:27 later with an assist from Narcisse for a 2-1 lead at the break.

Taylor Youmans found the back of the net with an assist from junior
Gabriela Marshall for a 3-1 score at the 47:40 mark. Blazer freshman goalkeeper
Adrienne Cardona-Colon played a clean final 73:43 minutes relieving senior
Claire Timberlake in the 17
th minute. Cardona-Colon finished with four saves and her first win as a Blazer. Youmans scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season and finished the year leading the team with six goas and six assists for 18 points.
For the match, VSU had 13 shots with eight on target, while Union finished with 16 shots and nine on frame. The Blazers had eight saves and Union finished with five stops. Smith had three shots and two on frame as did junior
Tatyana Machado. Narcisse finished with two shots and one on target with one goal and one assist, while Kearns had two shots and one on frame with an assist. Youmans made good on her lone shot attempt.
VSU improved to 9-2-2 all-time against Union and has won the last three matches in the series, while now is 4-2 all-time in Jackson against the Lady Bulldogs. Blazer head coach
Stephen Andrew finished his ninth year at the helm of the Blazers as he is 72-61-18 at VSU and 55-42-11 in the GSC. He also completed his 19
th season of coaching overall with a 212-116-27 record overall including stops at Huntingdon and Piedmont Colleges.
Andrew and the Blazers now turn their attention to the spring practice season beginning in early 2026.
