Valdosta, Ga. - After one of the wildest finishes of the young season, the Valdosta State men's basketball team is back in action tomorrow night, hosting Middle Georgia State at 7 p.m. inside the Complex in a much-anticipated rematch. The Blazers return home looking to respond from Wednesday's 96–95 road loss, a game decided by a contested Knights three-pointer at the horn.
VSU enters the matchup with plenty of momentum despite the result in Cochran. The Blazers shot over 53% from the field, saw five players score in double figures, and showcased one of their most balanced offensive performances of the young season.
Blaise Wallace finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while
MJ Jones delivered two clutch buckets in the final minute and finished with 16.
Peter McKey added 15, and the bench contributed 24 points in a strong collective effort.
Middle Georgia State counters with a high-powered lineup led by Krishen Atwal and OT Delancy, who combined for 44 points in the first meeting. The Knights excelled in late possessions and converted critical second-chance opportunities—areas VSU will look to control more effectively in Round Two.
The Blazers will rely on their depth, defensive adjustments, and the energy of their home crowd as they look to flip Wednesday's result. With both teams now familiar with each other's tendencies, Thursday's showdown promises another high-speed, high-urgency matchup.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. inside the VSU Complex, and after the fireworks of the first meeting, this rematch is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated early-season home games on the schedule. The Blazers will be looking to protect their home floor and close out the Knights this time around.
