VALDOSTA, Ga. – Junior
Eimy Negron Domenech continued her outstanding stretch over the last several months by earning her fifth consecutive Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week nod this week. The Orlando, Fla. native brought home all of the final five GSC Defensive Player of the Week awards of the 2025 volleyball season. This week's recognition adds to Negron Domenech's program record for most consecutive GSC weekly awards.
The Valdosta State volleyball team (12-17, 11-9 GSC) lost both of its matches this weekend in four sets, with Negron Domenech putting together two more quality performances to add to her recent breakout effort. The Hillsborough CC transfer recorded 53 digs over two matches against Trevecca Nazarene and Lee University for a pace of 6.63 digs per set over the weekend. She added two service aces and 12 assists.
Negron Domenech and VSU volleyball have a huge postseason match tonight at the Complex. The No. 6 Valdosta State Blazers host the No. 7 Christian Brothers Lady Bucs (14-17, 9-11 GSC) at 6 P.M. Tickets can be purchased online
