VALDOSTA, Ga. – Junior libero Eimy Negron Domenech was named to the All-Gulf South Conference Second Team today by the league. Negron Domenech was second in the GSC in both digs (481) and digs per set (4.91) over the course of the season. Her pace improved to 5.30 digs per set throughout conference play.

The Orlando, Fla. native and Hillsborough CC transfer was in and out of the lineup at the beginning of her VSU career. She established herself not only as a starter but as a top libero in the conference throughout conference play, winning a VSU volleyball record five consecutive GSC Defensive Player of the Week awards over the final five weeks of the season.

Negron Domenech put together several highlight performances throughout her breakout campaign this year. Her 37 digs in just four sets versus UAH was tied for the most in any GSC match this season. Her 36 digs versus Trevecca were good for the second most in the same category. Her 27 digs in three sets against Mississippi College were the second most in any three-set GSC match this season.

Negron Domenech and the Blazer volleyball team are focused on tonight's GSC Tournament Opening-Round Matchup between No. 6 VSU and No. 7 Christian Brothers. The match will occur at 6 P.M. tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 18^th at the Complex. Click here to purchase tickets online.
