VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State volleyball team (12-17, 11-9 Gulf South Conference) fell in four sets at Lee University (16-13, 12-8 GSC). The sides split the season series, each claiming a four-set win at home. As a result of tonight's match, the Blazers will host a home GSC tournament match as the No. 6 seed against No. 7 Christian Brothers (13-16, 8-10 GSC) on Tuesday, November 17
th at a time to be determined later.
The Flames jumped out to a 4-1 advantage, but VSU responded behind kills from junior

Macy Brown put away the next three Blazer kills then Montagnani added another, but Lee extended their lead to 16-10. Freshman
Madison Kilmer put down the next two kills to cut into Lee's 18-14 lead. Oncins (2), Brown, Montagnani, and senior
Ava Young added more, but Lee escaped the first set 25-21.
Oncins (3) and Brown started the second set with Blazer kills and freshman
Ava Keuntjes added her second ace of the match. Several errors both ways led to an 8-8 tie. Young sent down a kill and Brown served an ace, but Lee went ahead 12-10. Oncins (3), Sophomore
Avery Mullins, and Brown sent down more kills on the way to a 20-18 lead. Mullins and Kilmer worked together for a big block and several Lee errors cleared the way to a 25-22 win in the set and 1-1 tie in the match.
Oncins continued her strong performance in the third set with three of the first four Blazers kills. Kilmer and Mullins combined for a second block and Mullins added a kill on the way to a 7-7 tie. Oncins sent down three more kills and senior Katie Callneberger added another after combining with Young for a block, but the Flames ran away to win the set 25-17 and jump ahead 2-1 in the match.
Brown opened the fourth set with a kill, Oncins sent down two more on her way to a new season high, and Kilmer added two more to push VSU ahead 5-2. The sides traded big kills throughout the final set with Oncins setting her new season high with 19 kills. Brown, Mullins, Callenberger, and Kilmer would add more, but the Flames took the final set 25-23 to win the match.

The Valdosta State volleyball team will host a first-round match in the 2025 Gulf South Conference tournament at the Complex on Tuesday, Nov. 17th at a time to be determined later. More information will be posted on vstateblazers.com when made available.
