Blazer Athletics Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class at Homecoming

VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Saturday at halftime of Homecoming 2025 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, the 2026 Valdosta State Athletic Hall of Fame class was announced.  
 
The 29th Class will be inducted on Jan. 30, 2026, in the VSU Student Ballroom.  Check back with vstateblazers.com closer to the induction date for more information on how to purchase tickets and a more in-depth highlights of each inductee.
 
This induction class features six outstanding former student-athletes, one coach and one contributor to the program.  In alphabetical order the class includes; Destiny Berry (Volleyball, 2011-2015); Kelly Blizman (Softball, 1991-1996); Kelli Fields (Red Hots Coach, 2006-Present); the late Bryant Hayman (Baseball, 2011-2015); David Heruska (Contributor, 2008-Present); Olivia Mills (Women's Soccer, 2011-2015); Bea Morales (Women's Tennis, 2014-2017) and Ryan Schraeder (Football, 2011-2012). 
 
Berry played four seasons for the Blazers helping lead the team to its first Gulf South Conference title in 2014 and first appearance in the NCAA postseason.  She earned Daktronics All-Region honors in 2014 and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-America honors and was an elite blocker for the red and black and finished as one of the top blockers in program history with 439 total blocks and 112 solo blocks.  
 
Blizman helped put Valdosta State softball on the national map earning all-conference honors from 1993 to 1996.  She finished her outstanding career playing in 108 games with 89 starts in the circle and 70 complete games.  She is third all-time in program history in wins with 70 and pitched 590.2 innings for her career, while finishing with a 1.38 ERA.   
 
Fields has guided the Red Hots Dance team to national prominence throughout her career in Titletown with a staggering nine national titles under her watch, including five titles since 2017, including a national title in April of 2025.
 
Hayman earned first team all-GSC four times and was named GSC Freshman of the Year in 2012.  He played in 185 games with 183 starts.  Hayman scored 142 runs with 227 hits, 46 doubles, four triples and a blistering 39 home runs, while driving in 187 for his career.  He earned NCBWA All-Region honors twice and was named Fellowship of Christian Athletes Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 2015 and was named to the GSC All-Decade First Team.  
 
Heruska has been a long-time contributor and supporter of VSU Athletics.  He has attended countless games both home and away and is a supporter of all of Blazer Athletics and can been seen at just about every intercollegiate sport at VSU. He is a member of both the V-State Club and Blazer Backers. 
 
Women's soccer began at VSU in 2011 and the first goalkeeper in program history will be the first women's soccer inductee into the VSU Athletic Hall of Fame.  Mills minded the nets for four years from 2011 to 2015 helping lead the Blazers to one conference title and three NCAA postseason appearances in the first four years of the program.  Mills started a school-record 77 matches for the Blazers and logged 7,100 minutes, while she has a school-record 29 shutouts.  She went 45-23-9 for her career to lead the school record book.  She was named to the GSC All-Decade Team. 
 
Morales earned GSC All-Conference honors three times from 2015 to 2017, while earning GSC Freshman of the Year honors in 2015.  She earned ITA All-America accolades for head coach John Hansen in singles in 2016 and 2017, marking the last VSU women's tennis player to earn All-America honors.  She also was named to the GSC All-Decade Team.
 
Schraeder already is in the VSU Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 2012 National Championship Team, but now is inducted individually as arguably one of the best offensive linemen in program history.  Schraeder was named to multiple All-America teams in both 2011 and 2012, including the prestigious American Football Coaches Association All-America Team.  As a senior, he was runner-up for the prestigious Gene Upshaw Award which goes to the most outstanding lineman in Division II.  Not only did he excel on the field, but also in the classroom as he was named to the GSC Top Ten in 2013.  Schraeder signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2013 and graded out as one of the top offensive tackles in the NFL in 2015, while he played six seasons for the Falcons.  Schraeder was named to the GSC All-Decade First Team.
