VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State volleyball team (8-11, 7-3 Gulf South Conference) rides a four-match winning streak into this week's action. The Blazers will hit the road tomorrow to take on Auburn Montgomery (2-17, 1-9 GSC) at 7 p.m. ET. The team will return home to the Complex on Thursday, Oct. 23rd at 5 p.m. to take on Christian Brothers (8-14, 3-8 GSC). The Blazers will then wrap up this week's action on Saturday at 6 p.m. when they host Union (4-14, 2-9 GSC).

Valdosta State notched two huge home victories at the Complex last weekend to extend their winning streak to four consecutive matches. The Blazers handed Trevecca their first loss in GSC play on Friday to end the Trojans' ten-match winning streak. Then they defeated Lee on Saturday to earn a fourth straight victory.

Several Blazers set career and season-high marks during last weekend's action at the Complex. Junior Eimy Negron Domenech posted a career-high 36 digs Friday against Trevecca. Negron Domenech also posted a career-best four kills as the libero. Sophomore Avery Mullins put down a career-high nine kills on Saturday vs Lee. She added another three kills on Friday and tallied a combined 74 assists over two matches at a rate of 8.22 per set. Freshmen Madison Kilmer and Kinsley Timmons each put down three kills on four attempts.

The Auburn Montgomery Warhawks are the first repeat opponent of the season for Blazer volleyball. VSU defeated AUM in three sets at the Complex back on Sept. 30th. AUM enters Tuesday's match on a five-match losing streak. The Warhawks are led in kills by Kendall McCain, whose 201 are the eighth most in the GSC. Salome De Jesus is the second-most efficient in the conference with 0.44 service aces per set.

The all-time head-to-head series between AUM and Valdosta State volleyball is tied at eight matches a piece. The Blazers have claimed victories in the last three renditions of the series. Both sides will look to take advantage in the all-time series on Tuesday night in Montgomery.

The Valdosta State volleyball team will return home to the Complex on Thursday to host Christian Brothers. The Lady Bucs broke up a five-match losing streak with a three-set sweep victory over West Alabama in their last contest. CBU's Ella Schumacher has posted 214 kills this season at a rate of 2.85 per set. The tally is good for the sixth-most kills by any player in the GSC. CBU also rosters one of the most efficient attackers in the conference in Sarah Helms, whose .308 hitting percentage is the eighth highest in the league. Sophia Nowacki's 274 digs are the seventh-highest total in the GSC this season.

The Blazers swept Christian Brothers in Memphis previously this season. VSU has won its last eight matches with the Lady Bucs dating back to 2021. The Blazers lead the all-time series 14-8.

The final match of this week's VSU volleyball slate comes Saturday when the Blazers host Union. The Bulldogs opened GSC play on a nine-match skid but have bounced back with wins in their last two contests.
