VALDOSTA, Ga. – The 2024-25 Valdosta State men's golf season gets underway on Monday and Tuesday in Lakewood, Colo., at the Writz at Mile High hosted by Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines.  
 
The seven-team field will compete with 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday at Bear Creek Golf Club. Along with the Blazers and the two host schools, Colorado State-Pueblo, Colorado Mesa, South Dakota School of Mines and Texas-Permian Basin complete the field.  
 
Colorado Christian won the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship after finishing sixth in stroke play.  CCU went on to down North Georgia 3-2 in the championship match.  Colorado Mesa and Colorado State Pueblo also reached the NCAA postseason last season, but did not advance past the super regional.   
 
Last season, the Blazers finished sixth at the Gulf South Conference Championships at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta.  Current Blazer senior Brandon Cho finished tied for sixth at the league championship with a 54-hole score of 220.  
 
For the tournament to open the fall slate, junior Joshua Burki earned the top spot following qualifying, while sophomore Alexander Nilehn is second, followed by Cho, junior Ty Folsom and senior Parker Highsmith rounds out the lineup for the Blazers.
