Blazer Men’s Golf Finishes Third at The Writz at Mile High

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Valdosta State men's golf team fired a final round 298 to finish third with an 891 score (295-298-298) on the par 72, Bear Creek Golf Club Tuesday.  Defending national champion Colorado Christian led wire-to-wire to win the 2024 The Writz at Mile High. 
 
CCU finished with an 830 score for the 54-hole tournament and a staggering final round 19-under 269 Tuesday.  Colorado Mesa finished second, edging VSU by four strokes with an 887 score.  Colorado School of Mines was fourth at 896 and Colorado State-Pueblo rounded out the top five at 900. UT Permian Basin finished sixth at 933, followed by South Dakota School of Mines at 961.
 
Individually, CCU had the top three finishers and four in the top ten as Adam Ducan claimed medalist honors finishing 16-under (200).  Teammate Sungyeop Cho was second at 204 and Sangha Park was third (209), while Blazer senior Brandon Cho finished fourth at 4-under 212 on rounds of 70, 72, 70.  Colorado Mesa's Cole Beyer finished fifth at 213. 
 
Blazer junior Joshua Burki finished 11th with a 224 score on rounds of 74, 74 and 76.  Senior Parker Highsmith tied for 19th with a 228 score on rounds of 74, 74 and 80.  Sophomore Alexander Nilehn tied for 23rd, moving up six spots with a final round 74 and a 54-hole score of 231.  Blazer junior Ty Folsom finished 34th (236) with rounds of 77, 81, 78.
