VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 35-ranked Valdosta State women's tennis team is set to begin five matches in five days with four of them being at the VSU Tennis Complex. The Blazers open the gauntlet with No. 10 Auburn Montgomery Wednesday at 3 p.m., followed by a road match on Thursday at West Georgia. The Blazers then return home to host Florida Southern on Friday, No. 19 Tampa on Saturday and close the week with No. 45 Hawaii Pacific on Sunday.
The Blazers are coming off a 2-1 week where they downed Delta State (7-0) and Christian Brothers (7-0) and lost to No. 27 Mississippi College (6-1). VSU is 6-8 overall and 5-2 in GSC play, while Auburn Montgomery is 14-4 overall and 7-1 in GSC play.

This season, the Blazers are led by freshman
Aneta Poborilova who is 8-5 this spring with a 5-2 mark in GSC play, while junior
Kayla Greco and freshman
Denisa Hanakova are 7-6 overall this spring and freshman
Natalie Rainke is 6-7 overall and 5-2 in league play. In doubles, Hanakova and junior
Viktoriia Fedorova are 7-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in league play to lead the team as they are 44
th nationally.
The Warhawks are led by Estefania Garcia who is No. 11 nationally in singles and is 13-5 this spring and 5-3 in GSC play at the top spot in the lineup. Nahia Izco is 12-6 this spring and 6-2 in league play, while Ana Villalvazo is 14-2 overall and 7-1 in league play. In doubles, Garcia and Ane Ibarra are 11-3 this year and are 17
th nationally.
AUM leads the all-time series 8-1 and has won the last four in the series dating back to a 4-3 win by VSU on Mar. 3, 2020, in Valdosta. VSU has won the last 14 meetings in the series versus West Georgia, while the Blazers are 3-2 against Florida Southern with the last meeting being a 5-4 VSU win on Mar. 1, 2017, in the NCAA South Regional.
The Blazers dropped the last meeting with Tampa in Valdosta on Feb. 29, 2020, in a 4-3 setback. HPU leads the all-time series 3-2 and has won the last three meetings, including the last meeting on Apr. 15, 2018, in Pensacola, Fla., 9-0. VSU won the first two meetings in the series in 2009.
