VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team returns to action this Monday and Tuesday at the Matlock Collegiate, to open the spring portion of the schedule. The Blazers will play 36 holes Monday at Lone Palm Golf Club and 18 holes on Tuesday hosted by Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.
The 2024 field consists of No. 10, West Florida, No. 11 Florida Southern, No. 13 Saint Leo, No. 24 Barton, No. 26 Nova Southeastern, No. 34 Tampa, No. 42. Barry, No. 46 Lynn among teams ranked in the top 50 of the NCAA Division II Scoreboard powered by Clippd. Eckerd College, Embry-Riddle, Georgia College, Montevallo, Palm Beach Atlantic, Rollins and Valdosta State round out the 15-team field.
VSU's field this week includes sophomore
Joshua Burki at the top spot, followed by junior
Brandon Cho, freshman
Alexander Nilehn, junior
Chase Long and freshman
Adam Waller. Long is the only Blazer to have played Lone Palm GC as he finished tied for 66
th last season with a 78, 83, 79 and a 240 score.
The Blazers played four tournaments in the fall and will have five tournaments this spring, including two at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club. VSU will host the annual Southeastern Collegiate on Mar. 11-12, 2024, and then will host the GSC Championships on Apr. 22-23.
