Katherine Kimmel, along with freshman
Maria Rojas earned Gulf South Conference Weekly honors for their efforts in a pair of victories this past week.
Bahr finished the week with two goals and two shots on frame as her two scores both were game winners earning Player of the Week accolades. She scored the first in the 88
th minute in a thrilling 3-2 win over Union and then had the first goal on Sunday in a 4-0 win over Christian Brothers.
Kimmel played a lead role on the Blazer backline as the team only allowed two goals for the week, while she also scored a goal and an assist with two shots earning Defensive Player of the Week honors. She helped lead VSU to its sixth shutout of the season Sunday.
Rojas earned her first career GSC Freshman of the Week honor after she scored her fourth goal of the season in the 4-0 win over CBU. She played an active part in the Blazers' win on Friday over Union and then her goal was the second of four scores on Sunday. Rojas' four goals are tied for the team-lead.
The Blazers return to the road this week with a trip to the Magnolia State beginning Friday at 2 p.m. ET at Mississippi College, followed by a Sunday matchup at Delta State at 2 p.m. ET. VSU then returns home to host Lee on Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. in the final regular season home match.
