VALDOSTA, Ga. – On Saturday at halftime of Homecoming 2024 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, the 2025 Valdosta State Athletic Hall of Fame Class was announced.
The 28th Class will be inducted on Jan. 25, 2025, in the VSU Student Union Ballroom. Check back with vstateblazers.com closer to the induction date for information on how to purchase tickets and in-depth highlights of each candidate.
This outstanding class includes the 2018 NCAA Division II National Champion football team which went an unprecedented 14-0 and defeated Ferris State in a thrilling 49-47 contest in McKinney, Texas, for the Blazers' fourth football national title and eighth national championship as an institution.
Along with the championship team, former softball All-America pitcher Caitlyn Calhoun (2013-2016), men's cross country runner Gary Slayton (1975-1976), women's basketball All-America selection Brittany Ferguson Bell (2011-2012), football wide receiver Stanley Flanders (1993-1994), men's basketball standout Mike Crain (2003-2007), baseball infielder June Munford (1983-1984) and long-time contributors to the program Mr. and Mrs. Ron and Pat Bezona (1982-present) comprise this induction class.
