VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's basketball team announced their 2024-25 schedule on Wednesday. The Blazers will host 16 regular games at The Complex and a grand total of 28 games.
"We are excited to face a very difficult schedule for the 2024-25 season. As always, the Gulf South Conference is one of the toughest DII conferences in the country and will test us night in and night out. We also are playing three in-state schools with Fort Valley State, Clark Atlanta and Morehouse College. It's good for the State of Georgia to have these in-state games and the high level of competition. The Blazers open the campaign at home, where they will host the GSC/SIAC Basketball Challenge on Nov. 8/9 at The Complex. VSU will square off with Fort Valley State on Friday, November 8, followed by Clark Atlanta on Saturday, November 9. West Florida will take on Clark Atlanta on Nov. 8 before taking on Fort Valley State on Nov. 9 at The Complex. For the rest of the month, Valdosta State will continue to host as they welcome Morehouse College (Nov. 12) and Middle Georgia (Nov. 18) before heading to Morehouse (Nov. 21) and wrapping up the month at home versus Thomas University (Nov. 26).
December kicks off GSC play, as they travel to Alabama to take on West Alabama (Dec. 5) and Alabama Huntsville (Dec. 7). The Blazers will then host three straight as they battle with West Florida (Dec. 15), Trevecca Nazarene (Dec. 19) and Lee (Dec. 21) to wrap up the calendar year.
The beginning of 2025 starts with a trip to Mississippi, as they head to Mississippi College (Jan. 2) and Delta State (Jan. 4). VSU returns to Titletown with matchups against Union (Jan. 9) and Christian Brothers (Jan. 11). The Blazers conclude the month with another trip to Alabama, as they play Montevallo (Jan. 16) and Auburn Montgomery (Jan. 18) before hosting Alabama Huntsville (Jan. 23) and West Alabama (Jan. 25) for Hall of Fame Weekend.
February opens up with a three-game trip as they navigate to West Florida (Feb. 1), Lee (Feb. 6) and Trevecca Nazarene (Feb. 8). The Blazers then return home to host Delta State (Feb. 13) and Mississippi College (Feb. 15) before making on last trip to the Volunteer State to battle Christian Brothers (Feb. 20) and Union (Feb. 22). VSU closes out the regular season at home with Auburn Montgomery (Feb. 27) and Montevallo (Mar. 1).
The GSC Championship is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Mar. 4 on campus sites and then the semifinals and championship are set for Mar. 8-9 in Birmingham, Ala. The NCAA postseason regional begins Mar. 15-18 at the top regional seed, while the 2025 Elite Eight is scheduled for Mar. 25-29 in Evansville, Ind.
