MONTEVALLO, Ala. – A goal by host Montevallo in the 32
nd minute was enough as UM handed the Valdosta State women's soccer team a 1-0 setback on Sunday afternoon. VSU fell to 3-1-2 overall and 1-1 in Gulf South Conference play, while Montevallo improved to 4-1-1 overall and a 1-0-1 in league play.
VSU finished with nine shots and five on target, while Montevallo had 11 shots and four on frame. The Blazers had three saves in the match, while Montevallo had five saves. VSU attempted four corner kicks in the second half, while UM had two for the contest.

Tori Vliet played all 90 minutes, allowing the one goal and registering three saves.
UM's Morgan Goehring scored the lone goal of the match at the 31:44 mark, while Emilly Hounsell posted the shutout with four saves in goal. UM evened the all-time series at 4-4-1 overall and have now gone 4-0-1 in the last five matches against VSU.
VSU returns home to begin a four-match home stand Friday evening at 7 p.m. versus Alabama Huntsville at the VSU Soccer Complex.
