ROME, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's tennis team improved to 4-5 overall and 3-1 in Gulf South Conference play with a 7-0 victory at Shorter Tuesday afternoon. VSU now will play at No. 38 Lee on Wednesday, before trips to Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday versus Christian Brothers and Sunday in Pensacola, Fla., versus West Georgia and No. 16 Mississippi College.
In Tuesday's match, the Blazers made quick work of the Hawks in doubles, winning all three matches and dropping just two games in the process. Junior

Kayla Greco won 6-0 at No. 2 over Jessica Brown and Sydney Wright. Freshman Evelyn Altamaier and junior
Natalie Kohoutkova won 6-1 at No. 3 and senior
Julia Saving and sophomore
Anastasiia Vorobiova won 6-1 at No. 1 for the 1-0 team lead.
In singles, Pezo downed Emma Novis at No. 2, 6-1, 6-0, for a 2-0 lead and Greco won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles over S. Guiza Hernandez for a 3-0 lead. Freshman
Jorja Reynolds clinched the match at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Amelie Fryer. Both Kohoutkova and Vorobiova won in super tiebreakers and Altmaier won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6, giving VSU its first 7-0 victory this season.
