VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 6-seeded Valdosta State women's soccer team travels to No. 3-seed Mississippi College for the Gulf South Conference Quarterfinal on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. ET.

Click here for how to sign up for FloSports. The winner of the match will advance to the Gulf South Conference Semifinals and Championship, scheduled for Nov. 9-11 in Huntsville, Ala.
The Blazers finished the regular season with an 8-5-4 record overall and tied with West Georgia in both the regular season finale (1-1) and in conference play as each had a 6-5-2 record. UWG earned the No. 7-seed in the tournament and will travel to No. 2-seed Lee. Top-seeded West Florida hosts No. 8-seed West Alabama and No. 5-seed Union visits No. 4-seed Montevallo. Each of the winners of the quarterfinal matches will advance to Huntsville, Ala., with the winner of the VSU/MC match battling the winner of the Lee/UWG match on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. ET. The GSC Championship match is set for Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. ET. The semifinals and championship will be played at the newly renovated John Hunt Park Championship Field. VSU is making its tenth appearance in the GSC postseason tournament as the program won the title in 2014. The Blazers are 2-8-2 in the tournament and have advanced on both ties in penalty kicks. This is the first time VSU and MC have met in the conference tournament. VSU began women's soccer in 2011 as the 12
thintercollegiate athletic program at VSU.

Ana Moleka scored 12:10 into the contest on an assist from junior
Molly Wooldridge. The Choctaws leveled the match at 1-1 in the 31
st minute on a goal from Irene Lores and took a 2-1 lead in the 49
th minute on the eventual game winner from Margherita Giubilato. Despite the loss, VSU had multiple chances at the equalizer as the Blazers hit the post on a pair of shots and MC netminder Jessi Carro made two saves (five for the match) in the second half.
MC leads the all-time series 8-0-1 and has won eight-straight dating back to the first meeting in a 1-1 tie on Oct. 5, 2014, in Valdosta. MC is 5-0 in Clinton, Miss., versus VSU.
This season, the Blazers are led by Moleka who has a team-high 18 points on seven goals and four assists. She has 25 shots (.280) with 16 on frame (.640) with one game winner as she has played in 17 matches with 14 starts. Wooldridge is second in scoring at 17 points with seven goals and three assists. Ansley Decenzo leads the team with five assists this season and she has 11 points with three goals. Decenzo has 21 shots (.143) with 13 on target (.619) and one game winner.
As a team, the Blazers have scored 34 goals with 23 assists for 91 points, while recording 247 shots (.138) with 129 on goal (.522) and eight game winners. The team has gone 4 of 6 in penalty kicks this season. Nationally speaking, the Blazers are second in the GSC and 26
th nationally in corner kicks per game at a 6.29 clip with 107 corners for the year. The Blazers lead the GSC in shots on goal per game at a 7.59 clip with 129 shots on target for a .522 clip. VSU is fourth in the GSC in scoring offense at 2.00 goals per game this season for 51
st nationally, while the Blazers' 34 total goals are good for fourth in the league and 43
rd nationally. VSU's 91 points puts it fourth in the league and 47
th nationally, while the 23 assists are good for 57
th nationally and fourth in the league.
Individually, Wooldridge's .545 average on shots on target is good for second in the league, while she and Moleka are tied for fifth in the league in total goals (7) and Wooldridge is fourth in the league in shots on goal per game at a 1.41 average. th nationally. In goal, Timberlake is 5-3-2 on the year in 11 matches played with ten starts and a 1.14 goals against average. She has a team-high 39 saves (.780) with 2.5 shutouts and faced 89 shots. Freshman

th season, while he is 58-45-11 all-time at VSU. He owns the school-record for victories for the Blazers.
The Choctaws enter the postseason under the direction of 27
th-year head coach Darryl Longabaugh who is 329-128-35 at MC. His team is second in the GSC in points per game for 15
th nationally at 7.33, while the team is 16
thnationally in scoring offense at 2.73 goals per game for second in the league. The Choctaws are second in the GSC in shots per game at 15.93 for 36
th nationally, while they are fourth in the league in shots on goal per game (7.27). MC is second in the GSC in total goals (41) for 19
th nationally, second in the league in total points (110) for 24
th nationally and second in the league in total assists (28) for 25
th nationally.
Individually, Erin Hederman leads the team with five goals, eight assists and 18 points. Her eight assists are good for 20
th nationally and tops in the GSC, while Kathryn Knuth also has five goals this season. Giubliato is second on the team in assists with four. Carro has an 0.833 goals against average for fourth in the GSC as she has an 8-3-1 record and allowed 10 goals with 32 saves and five shutouts this season.
