VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's basketball team will take a weekend road trip to Cleveland, Tenn., facing Lee University on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 at 4 p.m. to open Gulf South Conference play. The Blazers enter this clash holding a 3-1 record, while the Flames carry a record of 2-0.

The Blazers are coming off a 2-0 homestand this past week, defeating Clinton College and Trinity Baptist College at The Complex. Junior
Caden Boser scored a season-high 26 points against the Golden Bears on Nov. 16 while shooting 10-16 from the floor and 5-9 from three while junior
Jack Wetzel scored a season-high 17 points off the bench on 5-8 from downtown in the win over the Eagles on Nov. 18.
Valdosta State and Lee have faced off a total of 18 times, with each team recording nine wins to make the series even. The Flames came away with a victory in the most recent matchup, as they claimed a 90-80 victory back in January at Paul Dana Walker Arena. Graduate student
Jay Rucker led the way for the Blazers in that matchup, scoring 16 points on 7-11 from the field and getting active in the passing lanes, recording two steals.
For the 2023-2024 season, the Blazers have four players averaging 10+ points, with Junior
Caden Boser leading all VSU players in scoring with 16.5 points per game. Boser, the Eau Claire, Wisc. native, is shooting an impressive 45.5% from beyond the arc, and is also grabbing 5.0 rebounds per game.
Senior
Lee Flenor is also scoring at a high rate this season, averaging 10.8 points per game on 17.8 minutes per game. The Miami, Fla. native is shooting 54.8% from the floor, and is hauling in 6.3 rebounds per game. Flenor currently leads the Blazers in steals with six, good for 1.5 a game.
