MOBILE, Ala. - The Valdosta State women's soccer team won its first Gulf South Conference match of the season with a 2-0 victory at Spring Hill College Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Victoria Bahr scored both goals, including the game winner just 2:39 into the contest, and added the insurance goal in the 88th minute.
The Blazers improved to 2-3-1 overall and 1-2 in GSC play, while SHC fell to 0-6-1 and 0-3-1 in conference play. VSU snapped a three-match skid with the victory.
VSU outshot the Badgers 22-6 and 12-4 in shots on goal. VSU sophomore goalkeeper
Emma Pruett had four saves and her second clean sheet of the season. The 22 shots and the 12 shots on target marked season highs for the Blazers this season.
Bahr finished with three shots and the two goals, while senior
Morghan Craven added her second assist of the season on the second tally by Bahr. Bahr's first goal ended a scoreless drought for the Blazers of 319:29 minutes, dating back to the first half of a 2-2 tie at Emmanuel College on Sept. 4. In that game senior

VSU returns home to begin a four-match home stand with Shorter visiting on Friday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m., while Lee visits on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m.
