PENSACOLA, Fla. – A first half goal by West Florida's Blair Cowan handed Valdosta State a 1-0 loss Friday evening. The Blazers fell to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in Gulf South Conference play, while West Florida improved to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1 in GSC play.
Cowan's goal came 19:34 into the contest for her fourth score of the season. VSU had a great look at the 38:57 mark as senior
Hannah Schroeder had a shot on target and UWF goalkeeper Maciah Lipsey was up to the task for the save. The Blazers finished the half with four shots and two on target as sophomore Kayley Mincy had a shot and save from UWF in the 16
th minute earlier in the half. UWF had seven shots in the first half.
For the second half, VSU had one shot, while UWF had 11 shots as VSU goalkeeper
Emma Pruett finished with five saves on 18 Argo shots with six on goal. VSU finished with five shots and two on target for the game. The Blazers had three corner kicks for the game, while UWF had six corners in the contest.. Lipsey had two saves in the match for the clean sheet.
