VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State men's golf team returns to action Oct. 3-4 at the Division I Georgia State Invitational on the par 72, 6,706-yard Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga. The tournament is comprised of 54-holes with 36-holes on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.

The field includes 16 teams, including host Georgia State, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Central Michigan, Florida A&M, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Lipscomb, Marshall, Nicholls State, North Alabama, Old Dominion, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Valdosta State and Wright State.
The Blazers will have freshman
Ty Folsom at the top spot this week, while sophomore
Gage Winkler will be at the number two position, followed by freshman
Joshua Burki, sophomore
Zach Ashley and freshman
John Collier Thornton.
Folsom paced he Blazers last time out as he finished tied for 33
rd at the Cougar Invitational in Columbus, Ga., Sept. 26-27. He finished with rounds of 72, 77 and 77 for a 226 score. Winkler finished next for the Blazers as he was tied for 52
nd with a 233 score, while Burki finished tied for 54
th with a 234 score. Ashley and Thornton are making their first appearances this season.
