Set One (VSU 25, CBU 19)

Following a 5-2 run by the Blazers, the Buccaneers were able to battle back to tie the game at five. Kills by graduate Mallory Roney and sophomore Christina Pettgrew allowed the Blazers to pull ahead at 7-6, but CBU again tied the set at seven. Later, VSU went on a 5-0 run from kills by freshman Ava Young and Roney to give VSU a 15-9 advantage. A Buccaneer miscue and a kill by Murray brought the score to 22-16 in favor of the Blazers, and a huge emphatic final kill by Smith allowed VSU to take set one 25-19.

Set Two (VSU 25, CBU 21)

The Blazers began the second set with a 7-3 run from efforts by Young, Smith and Pettigrew. The Blazers followed the rally with another 5-3 spurt to build a 12-7 lead. Deep into the set, three Buccaneer miscues and a kill by Young kept VSU ahead at 17-10. Later, a strong kill from CBU brought the Buccaneers within one at 20-19, but the Blazer offense came alive with a final 5-2 run from efforts by Young and Murray, plus CBU Miscues, to give VSU set two, 25-21.

Set Three (VSU 25, CBU 16)

A pair of CBU miscues sparked a 7-4 run by the Blazers to give VSU the upper hand to begin the third set. The Bucs then scratched back and tied the set at seven from a kill by Rizvi. A Blazer miscue and a service ace from the Bucs allowed CBU to take the lead at 11-9, but the lead wouldn't last long as the Blazers went on a dominating 6-1 run to regain the lead at 15-12.
