Blazers Fall to Undefeated Lynn in Palm Beach Atlantic Thanksgiving Classic

Box Score PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Valdosta State men's basketball team suffered its second loss of the season, 96-85 Friday afternoon, in the first game of the Palm Beach Atlantic Thanksgiving Classic. The Blazers shot 47.1% from the field and 40% outside the arc.
 
The Blazers were led by redshirt junior Cam Hamilton, who ended the afternoon with 24 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Junior Jacolbey Owens recorded 19 points along with three assists.
 
Brandon Bornelus led Lynn with 30 points for the Fighting Knights, recording six assists, and went eight of 13 from the field and six of ten outside the arc. Christian Peevy scored 21 points for the Fighting Knights, picking up five rebounds, one assist, and went eight of 13 from the field and one of three outside the arc.
 
Six other Blazers put their name on the scoresheet, including Maurice Gordon, Michael Cole, Cam Selders, DJ Mitchell, and Mohamed Fofana.
 
The Blazers fall to 2-2 on the year while Lynn preserves its undefeated season and improves to 4-0 on the year.
 
Head coach Mike Helfer and the Blazers are back in action tomorrow at 4 p.m. against Palm Beach Atlantic to round out the weekend.
