VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State senior volleyball senior setter Tammy Reyes-Perez joined The Blazer Spotlight Podcast this week.  Reyes-Perez has been a mainstay for the Blazer volleyball team and has had another great season in 2021. 
 
The Blazer Spotlight Podcast is produced by Assistant Professor of Digital Production at VSU, Dr. Colin Walker, and hosted by Assistant Athletic Director for Development, Matt Malone.  The Blazer Spotlight Podcast began in 2019-20 with 23 episodes featuring numerous Blazer coaches, student-athletes and more.  The 2020-21 season saw 16 episodes from Malone and Walker.  The episode with Reyes-Perez is the third episode of Season Three.

Reyes-Perez, has had an outstanding career for the Blazers as the primary setter.  She has played in 120 matches for her career, including starting all 22 matches this season for the red and black.  The Bayamon, P.R., native, leads the team in assists and is seventh nationally to lead the league this fall.  Her 9.56 assist per set average is good for second in the GSC, while she is fourth in the GSC in aces.  Reyes-Perez has played 84 sets this season, scoring 99.5 points with 53 kills and 803 assists.  She is averaging 9.56 assists per set and is swinging at a .101 clip in 208 swings with 29 service aces.  She sits 19^th among NCAA Division II active career leaders in assists with 3,236.  For her career, has 270 kills in 790 swings (0.851), along with 128 aces and 939 digs.
