Three Blazers Named to GSC All-Decade Men’s Basketball Teams

VALDOSTA, Ga. – Valdosta State former men's basketball standouts Beau Justice, Jeremiah Hill and Clay Guillozet were named to the Gulf South Conference All-Decade Men's Basketball Team, announced Tuesday.  Justice earned first team all-decade honors, while Hill was a second team selection and Guillozet earned honorable mention accolades.
 
The GSC All-Decade Men's Basketball Teams factor in the years 2011-2020 and were jointly selected by institutional personnel, coaches and league administrators.  Click on the link to the right for the complete lists of the GSC Men's Basketball All-Decade teams.
 
VSU tied for the second-most selections to the all-decade teams with three with Delta State, while Alabama Huntsville had four selections, including Player of the Decade in Josh Magette and Coach of the Decade in Lennie Acuff.  
 
Justice capped a storied, three-year career for the Blazers as he earned GSC Top Ten honors in 2017-18.  The Peebles, Ohio, native, earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-America honors in 2017-18, while being named GSC Player of the Year.  Justice is fourth all-time in school history in scoring at 1,754 points and averaged 18.7 points per game, which also is good for fourth in school history.  He leads the school record book in made 3-pointers for a career (257) and 3-point attempts (622), while he is sixth in 3-point field goal percentage at a 41.3 clip.  Justice is seventh all-time in school history in assists with 276.
 
He earned GSC Player of the Week honors six times for his career and drained 12 treys for the second-most in GSC history in a game in 2018 against Fort Valley State, while dropping a school-record 47 points.  In 2018-19, Justice earned Basketball Times All-America honors, while earning D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Region accolades and NABC All-Region honors.  He also was named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 25 Watch List in 2018-19.
 
Justice helped lead VSU to three-straight Gulf South Conference regular season titles and three berths in the NCAA postseason during his time in Titletown, beginning in 2016-17.  
 
Hill, a native of Savannah, Ga., earned NABC All-America honors in 2017 and GSC Player of the Year honors that season.  He capped off a great career with first team all-conference honors and received an invitation to the 2017 Reece's Division II College All-Star Game.  Hill averaged 19.6 points per game as a senior and scored 30 or more points four different times during the 2016-17 campaign.  He helped lead VSU to the GSC regular season title that season and a berth in the NCAA postseason.  
 
For his career, he finished with 1,089 points in three seasons at VSU after transferring from Savannah State.  He helped lead the Blazers the first of four-straight GSC regular season titles in 2016-17.
 
Guillozet, a native of Greenville, Ohio, was named the 2020 GSC Commissioners Trophy recipient, which is the highest honor bestowed by the GSC and one of the most prestigious individual honors in Division II.  He also earned GSC Top Ten honors and was named GSC Player of the Year in 2019-20.  Guillozet helped lead VSU to three of its four-straight GSC regular season titles and three berths in the NCAA postseason.  
 
He was named to the Bevo Francis Top 50 Watch List for 2019-20 and helped the Blazers to a school-record 19-game winning streak and a 26-4 mark overall this past season and an 18-2 mark in GSC play.  The Blazers were selected as the No. 3-seed in the NCAA South Regional and were scheduled to play No. 6-seed Palm Beach Atlantic, before the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
 
Guillozet was named GSC Player of the Week three times as a senior, recorded seven double-doubles and became the 27th player in program history to score over 1,000 career points.  He also broke the 500-career rebounding mark in 2019-20.  
 
For his career, Guillozet helped lead VSU to a 76-16 record overall in his three seasons, while going 52-8 in GSC play.  He earned GSC All-Academic honors twice and CoSIDA Academic All-District honors twice. 
 
Guillozet finished playing in 92 games with 84 starts and his 1,276 points is good for 15th all-time in program history, while he has 643 career rebounds and 288 assists.  He finished his career 483 of 925 from the field (52.2 percent), while draining 99 treys and converting 211 free throws. 
 
Justice, Hill and Guillozet have each helped lead VSU to a blistering 102-22 record over the past four years as the 102 victories marks as the most of any NCAA Division I or Division II school in Georgia.
