VALDOSTA, Ga.- The Valdosta State volleyball team will wrap up its regular season slate this week, as they travel to West Florida on Tuesday and the host West Alabama and Mississippi College. West Florida will be the first opponent as the Blazers will face the Argos Tuesday night in Pensacola at 7 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, VSU returns home to face West Alabama and Mississippi College. VSU will have senior day on Saturday, as the Blazers will honor seniors Dariah Powell and Kayla Widera. 
 
Who is West Florida?

• Currently, the Argos sport a 22-8 record overall and a 14-0 record in Gulf South Conference play.
• UWF is 5-0 in its last five matches and riding a seven-game win streak.
• The Blazers and Argos have already faced each other once this year, with the Argos winning in three sets.
• Senior outside hitter Jordyn Poppen leads the Argos in kills (385) and K/set (3.44).
• Junior Ashton Marshall (505 digs) and redshirt freshman Veresia Yon (110 blocks) lead UWF defensively.

 
Who is West Alabama?

• VSU hosts a Tigers team that has won three of its last five matches.
• The Tigers sit with 10-20 record overall and 4-10 in GSC play.
• VSU and UWA have faced each other once already this season, with the Tigers sweeping the Blazers in three sets.
• Senior Taylor Donato leads UWA in kills (395) and K/Set (3.41).
• The Tigers are led defensively by senior Rebecca Johnson (539 digs) and junior Bret Luther (71 blocks).  

Who is Mississippi College?

• The Blazers will host a Choctaw team that has won three of its last five matches.
• MC holds a 10-20 record overall and 5-9 in GSC play.
• Both teams have played once already this season, with VSU defeating the MC three sets to one.
• Sophomore Jamie Boros leads the Choctaws offensively with 355 kills and 3.06 K/set.
• Defensively, MC is led by senior Julia Martin (551 digs) and freshman Kate Bass (100 blocks).

What have the Blazers done recently?

• The Blazers are looking to break an ten-game losing streak.
• Senior Kayla Widera continues her dominant season with 117 blocks.
• Senior Dariah Powell leads the team in kills with 257.
• Junior Tammy Reyes Perez leads VSU in assists (772).
• VSU holds a 11-18 record, with a 3-10 record in GSC play.
