Blazer Women’s Soccer Drops Friday Afternoon Decision at West Florida

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Valdosta State women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision at West Florida Friday afternoon.  VSU fell to 6-6 on the year and 4-4 in the Gulf South Conference, while West Florida improved to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in league play.
 
The Argos scored three goals in the first half and all five goals were scored by different players in the match.  Anita Danielsdottir had a goal and two assists, while Nadia Kuchambi had a goal and an assist and Peyton Peffers had two assists.
 
VSU had five shots with two on frame in the game, while junior goal keeper Caroline Embler had five saves in the contest.  Kuchambi and Peffers each had three shots to lead the team as the Argos had 17 shots and 11 on frame.  UWF's Alex Hayman started the game in goal for 33:13, while Estephanny Barreras finished the match with two saves over the final 56:47.
 
The Argos scored 5:38 into the match as Kaila Armstrong scored the game winner of Peffers' first assist and then the Argos scored at the 21:51 mark by Danielsdottir, followed by the score from Annie Rolf for a 3-0 lead at the 29:30 mark. 
 
The Blazers kept fighting throughout, but the Argos added two more goals in the second half for the 5-0 victory.
