THE LEAD: The Valdosta State Blazers volleyball team fell short against Gulf South Conference foe West Alabama, in three sets.

First Set:
- UWA only had a .150 hitting percentage and 12 kills but still won the first set.
- The Tigers used a 7-4 run to defeat VSU in the first set.
- VSU hit .176 in the first set, dooming the Blazers.
Second Set:
- The Blazers struggled in the second set, only hitting -.103.
- 10 errors hurt the Blazers, as UWA started to pull away.
- UWA finished off the Blazers in the second set with a .212 hitting percentage.

Third Set:
- UWA jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead.
- VSU was unable to dig out of an early hole, plagues by six errors.
- UWA stayed hot pulling away to take the third set, 25-17

Inside the Numbers:
- The Blazers finished with 26 kills and a .036 hitting percentage
- Sophomore Jessie Mooney tallied 11 digs, nine kills, three blocks and two assists.
- Senior Dariah Powell totaled six kills, three blocks and 12 digs.
- 22 errors plagued the Blazers in the loss.
