VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 9 Valdosta State men's basketball team returns to action Sunday at 4 p.m. at The Complex versus Emmanuel College (Ga.).

The Blazers haven't played since an 87-72 win at Alabama Huntsville on Dec. 18. In that game, senior
Winston Morgan scored 23 points on 8 of 12 from the field and 6 of 8 from beyond the arc, earning Gulf South Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. The Blazers are 10-1 overall and 3-1 in GSC play. VSU went 1-1 on the road trip with a disappointing 71-70 loss at Lee prior to the UAH game. With a win over Emmanuel, the Blazers would have their first undefeated non-conference regular season since the 2013-14 season. VSU is 7-0 in non-league action to this point.
Emmanuel is 8-6 overall and 3-0 in Conference Carolinas as the team is coming off a 1-2 trip to the Aloha State with its lone win in a 79-76 decision against Western Washington. In Hawaii, Emmanuel lost games against Western Oregon and Hawaii Pacific.
Nationally speaking, the Blazers are fourth nationally in scoring offense at 95.1 points per game, while ranking seventh nationally in scoring margin (18.3). VSU is fifth nationally in assist/turnover ratio (1.73) and sixth in assists per game at 19.4. VSU is 19
thnationally in field goal percentage at a .505 clip, while ranking seventh in both 3-point field goals made per game (12.1) and 3-point field goal percentage at a .432 clip. VSU leads the GSC in made triples with 133 for 11
thnationally, while ranking eighth in total assists (213) and eighth in turnover margin (5.6). VSU is turning the ball over at an 11.3 clip for 29
thnationally and third in the league.
Individually, Morgan is 22
ndnationally in 3-point field goal attempts (90), ninth in triples made (41) and 45
thin 3-point field goal percentage (.456), while averaging 3.73 makes per game for ninth nationally. Senior
Beau Justice leads the team in scoring at 22.7 for 16
thnationally, while he leads the league in assist/turnover ratio at 2.88 for 26
thnationally. Justice is 35
thnationally in triples made with 34 on 34 of 76 for a .447 clip and is 49
thin 3-point field goal percentage. Justice also is 89 of 178 from the field for the season, ranking 26

th, respectively, in field goals attempted and made. His 250 points leads the team and is 15
thnationally. Justice has been named GSC Player of the Week a team-high three times this season.
For the season, VSU is shooting 375 of 742 from the field (.505), while going 133 of 308 from range (.432) and 163 of 217 from the line (.751). VSU is five free throws short of making more than the opposition has attempted (120 of 168). The Blazers are averaging 36.7 rebounds per game, while recording 213 assists, 123 turnovers, 30 blocks and 99 steals. The opposition is shooting at a .487 clip on 327 of 671, while going 71 of 198 from beyond the arc (.359). The opponents are averaging 33.0 rebounds per game, with 150 assists, 185 turnovers, 27 blocks and 56 steals, while scoring 76.8 points per game.
Along with Justice at 22.7 points per game and Morgan at 14.3, two other Blazers, juniors
Darrell Jones and

Kendrick Colvin is the go-to guy for the Lions as he leads the nation in field goals made with 124, while ranking second nationally in double-doubles with eight. He is seventh in free throw attempts (89), 30
thin free throws made (58). Colvin averages 3.43 offensive rebounds per game (25
th) and 6.57 defensive rebounds for 31
stnationally. He is fourth nationally in total rebounds with 140 and is averaging 10 rebounds per game. Colvin is sixth in total field goal attempts with 212 and is 15

Colvin is one of three Lions averaging double figures at 22.6 points per game, while Brandon Simpson averages 16.4 points and Emerson McClung averages 13 per game. The team averages 80 points per game and allows 72.3 per contest.
