VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Valdosta State women's basketball team plays its final home game prior to the Christmas holiday Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Georgia Southwestern at The Complex. VSU is 5-3 on the year, while GSW is 3-3.

Kayla Bonilla chipped in ten points. VSU dominated the glass to the tune of 58-34 and held Paine to 18 of 65 from the field for a 27.7 clip and just 18 percent shooting in the second half.
For the season, the Lady Blazers are shooting .354 from the field on 177 of 50, while going 40 of 145 from beyond the arc (.276) and 109 of 185 from the line (.589). VSU is averaging 45.6 rebounds per game, while recording 75 assists, 119 turnovers, 21 blocks and 83 steals. The Lady Blazers are averaging 62.9 points per game and allowing 56.0 points per contest.
Bonilla leads the team in scoring at 11.0 points per game on 28 of 70 from the field (.400), while draining four triples and going a team-best 28 of 37 from the line (.757). She has 19 assists to lead the team and 12 steals for second on team. Franklin is second in scoring at 9.6 points per game with 27 made field goals, while Townsend is third in scoring (9.5) and leads the team averaging 8.1 rebounds per game. Junior

GSW hasn't played since December 1
stfollowing a 78-62 loss at USC Aiken. The Canes are led by Morgan Towells and Lex Chatman who both are averaging 12.2 points per game as Towells leads the team with 10 triples and is second in assists with 15, while leading the team with 14 steals. Chatman has eight triples and is 15 of 20 from the line, while leading the team in rebounding at 5.7 per game.
Georgia Southwestern is shooting .360 from the field on 161 of 447, while going 37 of 141 from beyond the arc (.262) and 93 of 136 (.684) from the line. GSW is averaging 40.2 rebounds per game, while allowing 51.5. The team has 90 assists, 83 turnovers, 19 blocks and 73 steals, while scoring 75.3 points per game and allowing 72.5 per contest.
Following the game, VSU returns to league play at Lee and at Alabama Huntsville, Saturday and Monday, respectively, before heading into the Christmas break. There will not be any VSU-sponsored radio coverage of the games this coming weekend due to the football national championship in McKinney, Texas.
