Valdosta, Ga. – Valdosta State Volleyball bounced back with a huge 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-13) Gulf South Conference victory over the Mississippi College Lady Choctaws this afternoon at The Complex.
The Blazers established themselves early in the first set and gained a 10 point lead on the Choctaws. They finished the set with a block by Sophomore
Kayla Widera, which resulted in Blazer win.
The second set seemed to play in the Blazers favor as well. They ended the set with a 4-0 run led by setter
Sara Dandridge to put the Blazers ahead 25-17. In the final set of the match, the Lady Blazers went up an impressive 15-3, and ended up closing the match out 25-13.
Individually for the Blazers,
Tristyn Sells had a team high 8 kills, 20 total attacks, and 10 points for the Lady Blazers, followed by Chloe Chubilleau with 7 kills in the match.
Setter
Sara Dandridge led the Lady Blazers with 24 assists on the afternoon. Senior
Sydney Chick picked up 14 digs on the day as well.
With the win, Valdosta State improved their record to 10-12 overall and lifted their conference record to an even 5-5. The Choctaws, on the other hand, fell to 10-16 overall and saw their GSC record fall to 2-8 on the year.
The Lady Blazers hit the road and head to Cleveland, Tenn. to face the Lady Flames of Lee University on Friday, October 27
