Next up for Blazer Volleyball: Christian Brothers and Union

VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State volleyball looks to extend their winning streak of five in a row this weekend as they travel to Tennessee for back-to-back Gulf South Conference matchups on Friday and Saturday.
The Blazers head into the weekend with a solid 19-5 overall record and 14-2 in conference play.

Valdosta State will open up the weekend against the Lady Bucs of Christian Brothers on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn. Christian Brothers enter the contest with an overall team record of 8-18 and 4-12 in GSC play.

This will be the second time that the two teams compete against each other in attempt to improve both their overall record and conference play standing. The two teams faced each other back in October on Valdosta State's home court where the Blazers swept the Lady Bucs in a three-set (25-18, 25-15, 25-23) Gulf South Conference victory.

Jessica Codato also recorded one of her notorious nights as she finished with a double-double against the Lady Bucs. Codato tallied 28 assists and 10 digs overall and also added two blocks and eight kills, producing a .800 hitting average.

Following Friday's matchup the Blazers will compete against the Lady Bulldogs of Union on Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Jackson, Tenn. The Lady Bulldogs currently stand at 8-17 overall and 7-9 in conference play. Union will be hosting their Homecoming game against the Blazers of Valdosta State.

The two battled each other earlier in the season at The Complex in Valdosta, Ga., where the Blazers captured a three-set (25-20, 25-20, 25-14) conference victory.

Live stats and video will be provided for both matches at www.vstateblazers.com.
