Casey Guilliams

Casey Guilliams is now in his fourth season as assistant coach for the Blazers as he started in 2020.  He also was a graduate assistant in 2018 and 2019 for the Blazers, as he graduated in 2019 with a M.A. in Communication.  

Guilliams, who is the nephew of head coach Greg Guilliams, helped guided the team to a 68-55 record during his three years in Titletown.  The 2019 team went 32-23  earning a berth in the conference tournament championship game and a regional berth for the Blazers.  The team hit .306 and slugged .406 for the season with 92 doubles and 20 home runs that season.  In 2018, the team hit .271 and slugged .407, while recording 77 doubles and 37 home runs.  

In 2020, before the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Blazers were off to a fast start as they were 13-6 and ranked as high as 11th nationally. 

Prior to coming to VSU, Guilliams was a four-year player at Treutt-McConnell University (2013-17).  There, he helped lead TMU to the program's first regional appearance in 2017. He earned Academic all conference 2016 & 2017. Graduated Cum Laude in 2017 with a bachelor of science in business administration. 

Before college, Guilliams was a three-year letterwinner and honors student at Valdosta High School, where he graduated in 2013.  He is the son of Todd Guilliams, a former VSU baseball coach, and Julie Guilliams.  He has two siblings, Grace and Wyatt.  Guilliams is married to VSU Assistant Athletic Trainer, Claire Guilliams, in which they celebrated their second anniversary mid November and have a 1.5 year old daughter named Harper
