Brent Howard joins the Valdosta State baseball program as a student assistant after an accomplished collegiate playing career at both Jacksonville University and Valdosta State. Prior to arriving at VSU, Howard started 85 games across three seasons at Jacksonville, where he earned All-ASUN Second Team honors while posting a career .277 batting average with 13 home runs and 76 RBI. During his final season with the Dolphins, he slashed .282/.371/.435, establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor. In his lone season with the Blazers in 2026, Howard started all 50 games and batted .280, collecting 52 hits, including 12 doubles, one triple, and five home runs, while driving in 27 RBI and scoring 40 runs. He also drew 32 walks to post a .396 on-base percentage and finished with a .435 slugging percentage.
