ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After a schedule change, the Blazers travel to South Florida to face the Eckerd College Tritons on Friday, Sept. 4. The match was originally scheduled as the regular season finale for the Blazers on Oct. 27.

VSU enters the match 1-0 after a 4-2 victory against Middle Georgia State this past Wednesday. 

Sarah Hudson leads the team in points with one goal and one assist. Kayleigh Kearns, Kyndal Smith and Ameliah Dixon all had goal contributions in the season opener and Kaitlyn Scherer chipped in an assist.

The Blazers are 1-0 all time against the Tritons winning their only matchup last season by a 3-1 margin as the host team. 

Scouting the Tritons
So far this season the Tritons sit at 1-0-1 after facing Middle Georgia State and Delta State at home. 

The club features four different goal scorers on the season with all of the scores coming in their season opening 4-0 shut out victory against Middle Georgia State. 

Freija Aflenzer leads the team in points with a goal and an assist. Jillian Doerger has a team high two assists and Ashley Nelson has one. Lisa Fureh, Abby Knipp and Sylvia MohrSting each sit at a goal apiece. 

Netminder Madi Winn has two shutouts with four saves and a 1-0-1 record on the season in goal for the Tritons.
