VALDOSTA, Ga. - Valdosta State freshman, Liam LeBrocq, earned his first career Gulf South Conference weekly honor as he was named GSC Freshman of the Week following his performance at the Twilight at John Hunt Park. This is the first weekly award since Brishen House earned Runner of the Week on Sept. 7, 2022 and since Logan Kraus was awarded with Freshman of the Week on Sept. 11, 2019.

LeBrocq turned in an excellent performance in the men's 8K, finishing 14th overall with a time of 26:20.0. This finish was also a new personal best which helped the Blazers secure a second-place finish at the meet.

The VSU freshman was part of a strong group of Blazers upfront that finished within seconds of each other, crossing the line behind teammate Jake Wilkerson and ahead of Parker Henderson and Caleb Tilford.

This honor marks LeBrocq's first weekly conference award of his career and adds on to an impressive start to his freshman campaign, as well as bringing Valdosta State back into weekly awards.

The Blazers will return to action Friday, Oct. 9 for the Florida State Invitational. The men are scheduled to start their race at 7:40 a.m.
