WEST POINT, Miss. - Blazer men's golf opened the season with a sweep of the individual and team title at the Dunning Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Blazers started round three in second place seven strokes behind UT Dallas with a score of 566.

With 18 holes left to go Valdosta State maintained their momentum carding their lowest team round of the tournament boasting a round of 282 golf.

Jonah Nacional shot another round of 67 stroke golf to win the Dunning Invitational. The freshman shot 13 under par in three rounds with a 69 stroke first round and back-to-back 67 stroke rounds. The St. John's, Florida native had 18 birdies in the tournament to lead the field for virtually the entire tournament.

Alexander Nilehn made the leader board tied for fourth place. The senior carded back to back rounds under par and shot just one over par in the third and final round. 

Adam Waller tied for ninth. He had his best round of golf to finish out the tournament shooting one under par in the third round.

William Carestam placed in a tie for 14th with a 71 stroke final round.

David Wagner finished tied for 45th place with a one over par final round.

Kaleb Shiver (IND) tied for 49th place with a 78 stroke final round.

The Blazers ended The Dunning Invitational with a team score of 848 for a total of 16 under par.

The Blazers return to action in south Georgia when they head to the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Georgia Southwestern at the Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga on Oct. 5-6.
