8/29/2026 11:14:00 AM

Valdosta, GA- The Valdosta State women's soccer team will start off this season at home playing against Georgia College at the VSU Soccer Complex tomorrow at 5 PM.

Last season, after ending the year with a record of 6-8-4 and 4-7-1 in Gulf South Conference games, VSU is aiming to establish a new identity and begin the new season on a strong note at home. The Blazers concluded 2025 on a high note by winning four of their last six matches, including three consecutive wins to end the regular season.

The game on Sunday also provides the Blazers with a chance to respond to their tough result from last season. On September 11, 2025, Georgia College secured a 4-0 win against VSU in Milledgeville.

In the previous season the Blazers scored 26 goals having taken 221 shots and 108 shots on goal. VSU also carried out 89 corner kicks in its 18 matches.

The Blazers will play against Georgia College which, for Sunday's match, already has one early-season win to its name. The Bobcats started off their 2026 campaign with a 5-0 win against North Greenville, scoring two times in the first half before getting three more goals after the break.

Last season Georgia College had a record of 7-7-4 and played 5-3-2 in conference games, giving up only 16 goals in 18 matches.

For the Blazers, Sunday is their first chance during the season to play in front of their home crowd.

Another season, another team and another chance are ahead as VSU aims to start its 2026 season on a high note.
