VALDOSTA, Ga. – A total of 28 Valdosta State student-athletes were inducted into the Georgia Xi Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma (XAΣ), the National Collegiate Student-Athlete Honor Society, at the 2026 VSU Athletic Awards Banquet Wednesday evening.

This marks the second class inducted at Valdosta State, as the inaugural class consisted of 37 student-athletes inducted last May. Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes student-athletes from accredited four-year National Collegiate Athletic Association, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, United States Collegiate Athletic Association and National Christian College Athletic Association institutions who excel in both the classroom and athletic competition.

To be inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a student-athlete must attend a four-year accredited college or university that is a member of an association promoting academic achievement and varsity-level athletics competition, while demonstrating a commitment to the principles of integrity, sportsmanship and the overall development of student-athletes.

Honorees must also achieve at least junior academic standing by the fifth semester or seventh quarter, as determined by the certifying institution, and must have earned a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).

Senior Associate Athletic Director/SWA Jennifer Grubbs serves as advisor for Valdosta State's chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma. For more information, visit ChiAlphaSigma.org.
