VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Valdosta State baseball team (15-28) dropped its midweek matchup to Georgia College (17-23) by a 13-1 final Wednesday evening at Billy Grant Field.
The two sides played through a scoreless first two innings before Georgia College broke through in the third and continued to build separation with multi-run frames in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
The Blazers were held to one run by a Georgia College pitching staff that combined for a no-hitter. Valdosta State's lone run came in the seventh inning, as junior Isaiah Pou scored on a sacrifice fly from sophomore Charles Moore. The no-hitter was the first one given up by VSU since 2017.
Georgia College finished with 16 hits on the night and was extremely effective on the bases with 11 stolen bags as a team.
Valdosta State (15-28, 10-17 GSC) will look to bounce back as it returns to Gulf South Conference play this weekend in its final regular season home games at Billy Grant Field in 2026. The Blazers will host Christian Brothers (10-30, 5-22 GSC) first on Friday at 5 p.m. before a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m., when the team will celebrate Senior Day.
