DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Valdosta State Red Hots Dance Team delivered a historic performance on the national stage this weekend, sweeping both the Jazz and Hip Hop Divisions  at the NDA College National Championship to claim the program's 10th and 11th national titles.

Competing against the top Division II programs in the country inside the Ocean Center, the Red Hots rose to the occasion with two electrifying performances. The championship sweep marks a milestone achievement for Valdosta State, further solidifying its reputation as one of the premier dance programs in collegiate athletics.

The Red Hots opened the weekend with a dominant showing in the Jazz Prelims late Thursday night earning a raw score of 92.9429 good for second place behind only Davenport who scored a 93.1429. Both teams where able to improve their scores come the finals Friday night. VSU went first elevating its score by more than a full point to a 94.7429. Davenport followed but was unable to keep pace scoring a 94.1714.  This follows last years fourth place finish in which Davenport took home the title followed by Northwest Missouri State and Lindenwood.  

Friday morning the Red Hots took the stage for the first time in the Hip Hop Division for the prelims and they set the standard early scoring a 93.5143 good for first place. Returning to the floor on Saturday, Valdosta State followed with another statement performance posting a 95.1429 to capture its second national championship in as many days.  VSU won the Hip Hop Division by over a point (1.2286).  

"Winning both the Jazz and Hip Hop Divisions at Nationals has been a dream for me and this program for so many years," said head coach Kelli Fields. "To have that dream come, with this team that has always shown that they are willing to do whatever it takes, is more special than I can truly express in words."

This marks the first time in program history that the Red Hots have won both the Jazz and Hip Hop National titles in the same year. With the victories, Valdosta State reaches a historic benchmark of 11national championships, placing the Red Hots among the most decorated programs in Division II dance.
