VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 50 Valdosta State men's tennis team returns home to host No. 29 Auburn Montgomery in a key Gulf South Conference match on Friday at 2 p.m. at the VSU Tennis Complex and then heads to No. 4 Saint Leo for a Sunday match at 1 p.m.
The Blazers enter the week at 4-5 overall and 2-1 in Gulf South Conference play as they are coming off a 1-1 week in a thrilling 4-3 win at Montevallo and a 7-0 loss to top-ranked Barry. Against UM, VSU roared back and tied the match at 3-3. Blazer junior
Yohann Meunier clinched the match with a thrilling 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-1) win at No. 5 singles over Edgar Dufresne.

rd in the singles as he is 8-4 this year. Sophomore
Julien Doitteau is 52
nd nationally in singles, but hasn't played since Mar. 4 and is 5-2 on the year. Bosse is a perfect 3-0 in conference play so far this season. The Blazers have really struggled in doubles this spring as they are a combined 4-17. Junior

Jan Thissen are 2-0, while Thissen and Meunier are 1-0 to lead the team.
The Warhawks enter with a 6-8 record overall and a 3-1 mark in GSC play. AUM just upset No. 17 Mississippi College its last time out, 4-3. The Warhawks are led by Giuseppe Bonaiuti who is 58
th nationally in singles and Jami Savolainen who is 62
nd. Bonaiuti is 7-13 this year in singles, while he is 10-11 in doubles. Savolainen is 10-11 in singles and 12-10 in doubles mostly with Bonaiuti. Savolainen and Bonaiuti are 7-3 in doubles this spring at the top spot in the lineup to lead the team.
VSU leads the all-time series 15-2 against AUM and has won 14-straight matches, including a 6-1 win in Montgomery, Ala., last season and a 7-0 win in Valdosta in 2024. AUM won twice in 2008 in Montgomery for its only two wins in the series.
Saint Leo enters with a 10-2 record overall and a 3-1 mark in the Sunshine State Conference. The Lions won 5-2 over No. 36 Lynn on Sunday and will host No. 11 Rollins on Thursday, before facing VSU on Sunday.
This season, Saint Leo has three players ranked in the singles rankings, along with two doubles teams. For singles, Jose David Segovia Perez is 14-1 in singles and ranked ninth, while Dylan Andrianaly is 13-5 and ranked 12
th nationally. Kodai Kato is 51
st nationally and 13-3 in singles. For doubles, Perez/Kato are second nationally at 15-4, while Shay Sarfati and Eduardo Cohen are 18
th at 12-6 on the year.
VSU leads the series with Saint Leo, 6-3, including a thrilling 4-1 win in the South Regional last season and a 4-1 win in Valdosta during the regular season in 2025. VSU also won 4-3 in the national semifinals in 2024 and won 4-3 in Saint Leo in 2024. The Blazers have won five-straight as SLU's last win came on Mar. 1, 2022, in Saint Leo, 5-2.
