DADE CITY, Fla. – Play has been suspended due to darkness at the 2026 Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club as the Blazers are 5-under for the tournament and sit seventh.  The teams will conclude the second round with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and then head right into the final round.
 
Each of the 17 teams have approximately 2-3 holes remaining in the second round.  No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 37 Lynn are tied for the lead at 21-under currently, while the host Lions of Saint Leo, ranked No. 21, are third at 16-under.  No. 19 Nova Southeastern is 13-under for fourth and No. 2 Lee is fifth at 12-under. Embry-Riddle is one of four teams who actually finished and is sixth at 9-under, followed by VSU at 5-under, while No. 22 Barry is 4-under for eighth, followed by No. 40 Palm Beach Atlantic (3-under) and Delta State is tenth at 2-under as the Statesmen also finished.  
 
Blazer junior Alexander Nilehn is 8-under so far for the championship and has two remaining holes in the second round as he is currently fourth.  Nilehn opened the tournament with a career-best 66 in the first round.  VSU carded three eagles in the second round alone and two from senior Joshua Burki, along with one from freshman Kaleb Shiver who is playing as an individual.  Burki and Shiver both eagled the par 5 No. 2 hole and Burki also added an eagle on the par 5 No. 13 hole.  Burki sits at +3, but 1-under for the second round with two holes to play, while Shiver is +9 for the championship.  
 
Junior William Carestam is 1-under for the tournament and even par through 17 holes of the second round, while senior Elad Sebbag is +3 for the tournament and also even par for the second round with two holes to play.  Junior Adam Waller is +4 for the tournament and two-over for the middle round with one hole to play.
