TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Valdosta State University cross country teams are gearing up to take on one of the toughest early-season meets as they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the highly competitive Florida State University Cross Country Invite this Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park. The men's race (8K) begins at 7:40 a.m., and the women's race (6K) is scheduled for an 8:20 a.m. start.
After a solid showing in their opening meets, the Blazers are eager to test their depth and speed against a strong field that features some of the best collegiate programs in the Southeast. This invitational is renowned for drawing top NCAA Division II and Division I teams, making it a prime opportunity for the Blazers to sharpen their racing strategy and gauge their progress early in the season.
The Blazers will be led by sophomore standout
Nick Waddell, who has posted impressive times in previous competitions and looks to set the tone for the squad. On the women's side, the team hopes to build on their consistent pack running, while the men aim to capitalize on their strong endurance and pacing.
