VALDOSTA, Ga. – The back-to-back national champion Valdosta State men's tennis team had seven student-athletes earn the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete Award, while the men's team earned ITA All-Academic Team honors. The Blazer women's team also earned the team award and had six student-athletes earn scholar-athlete honors.
On the men's side, VSU was one of 76 NCAA Division II institutions to earn the team honor and one of four Gulf South Conference institutions (Lee, Montevallo, West Alabama). For the Blazers, graduates

Arthur Bord, along with junior
Jan Skerbatis, sophomores
Jerome Iaconi and
Matteo Castellazzi and freshman
Julien Doitteau earned the prestigious honor as they had a grade-point average of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-2025 academic year. The team requirement was a 3.2 GPA or better.
For the women, 104 teams qualified for the team award and 705 student-athletes were named scholar-athletes. Along with VSU, Lee, Montevallo and West Alabama also earned team academic honors. For the Blazers, seniors
