PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Valdosta State men's and women's tennis teams took part in the ITA South Regional this weekend in Pensacola, Fla.  
 
The Blazer men's team saw doubles tandem of sophomores Julien Doitteau and Philipp Bosse reach the Round of 16 falling to Embry-Riddle tandem of Joshua Nuyts and Joao Morgado, 8-6.  Doitteau and Bosse also reached the Round of 16 in singles as Yan Kodjoed of Barry downed Doitteau, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) and Matias Iturbe of West Alabama won 6-3, 6-4 over Bosse. 
 
On the women's side in doubles, senior Lena Beckx had a strong debut for the Blazers as she reached the round of 16 in doubles with junior Milica Prokic, falling to Meadow Garcia and Kristin Younes of Lynn, 8-4.  In singles, Beckx reached the round of 16 losing to Alexa Milliam of West Alabama, 7-5, 6-1.  Prokic lost her opening singles match, but battled back to finish in the round of 16 of the consolation draw with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Nisan Can of Rollins.
